Question:
I own a business and operate from a leased space, where I have made significant improvements to the area occupied. Who is responsible for insuring these items?
Answer:
It is the tenant's responsibility to provide coverage for the improvements and betterments made to a leased space. The building owner does not have an insurable interest in the property. However, once the tenant leaves the occupied space, the improvements are the building owner's property and current coverage limits should be reviewed. |
